How we use cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let the site remember your actions and preferences (like staying logged in) over a period of time. We also use related browser storage technologies — localStorage and sessionStorage — for the same purpose. For brevity, this policy refers to all of them as “cookies”.

We group cookies into three categories. You can opt out of optional categories at any time via the cookie banner.

• Essential — required to operate the platform (authentication, session management, security). Cannot be disabled.
• Functional — remember your preferences (theme, sidebar state, timezone, interview room settings). Optional.
• Analytics — help us understand how the platform is used so we can improve it. Optional.

These are strictly necessary for the platform to work. We use a single first-party session cookie to keep you signed in to your Boooply account. It is HTTP-only and secure (it cannot be read by client-side JavaScript), set only on our domain, and expires after up to 30 days of inactivity.

We store small UI preferences in your browser’s localStorage. These never leave your device and are not sent to our servers.

• Theme preference (light, dark, or system)
• Sidebar collapsed state and last-visited section
• Cookie consent choices (so we don’t ask again)
• Pending plan and company selections during checkout

If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics to understand aggregated platform usage (page views, feature adoption, performance). Analytics is loaded only after consent and is denied by default.

Some embedded services may set their own cookies when you interact with the relevant feature. We share only the minimum data required for them to function.

• Use the cookie banner to accept all, reject optional cookies, or set per-category preferences.
• Change your mind later by clearing the boooply_cookie_consent value in your browser storage — the banner will reappear.
• Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. Note that disabling essential cookies will sign you out and break interview sessions.

We may update this policy as we add or remove cookies. Material changes will be highlighted in-app or via email. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
